Uusi Tuuli is an association that promotes solidarity exchange. Our vision is to create equal and environmentally sustainable relationships with North and South. We see that many current problems are related to the Northern way of life and its world view, which are detrimental to the cultural and biological diversity of the world. We criticize the self centered consumption culture and offer alternative way of life which is based on leisure, local production & consumption, democracy and to genuine interaction between cultures.

Our most visible tool is sailing vessel Estelle which we use for transporting cargo with wind power. We organize campaign events and -tours in harbours of Europe. The ship functions as an open space that gathers people, organisations and ideas all around the world to encounter each other. Estelle is also used in training volunteers to sail, thus upkeeping the ancient tradition of sailing. We also promote sustainable traffic on land through our bicycle fleamarket "Free wheel". Uusi Tuuli makes publications and informational work of which part is environmental and global education
